§ 31.39. LICENSE INSPECTOR.

  • (A) Establishment. The Office of License Inspector is hereby created; the License Inspector shall administer and enforce the city’s business and occupational license regulations as set forth in Title XI of this code.
    (B) Appointment; removal. The License Inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council pursuant to KRS 83A.080 and may be removed by the Mayor at will.
    (C) Supervision. The License Inspector shall be under the supervision and jurisdiction of the Finance Director.

    (D) Powers. The License Inspector is authorized and empowered to issue notice of violations of Title XI of the Glasgow Municipal Code, but this provision is not to be construed to empower the License Inspector to make physical arrests or to give him or her the general arrest power of a peace officer.

    (E) Oath and bond. No person shall be appointed or act as the License Inspector unless the person has taken the oath required by § 228 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and has provided a bond in the sum as established by City Council, with corporate surety authorized to transact business in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and conditioned upon the performance of the duties specified herein.
    (F) Compensation. The compensation of the License Inspector shall be in an amount to be established by City Council by ordinance.
